United Way of Northeast Mississippi is Mission Okolona's Biggest Supporter

Updated: Sep 15, 2020

We are grateful to United Way of Northeast Mississippi for not only their financial support, but also for the many resources and individuals they have connected Mission Okolona with over the years.

To say that our nonprofit food pantry could not do what we do without the support of United Way of Northeast Mississippi (UWNEMS) is a matter of fact. From ensuring that our shelves are filled with food to providing us with workshops and introducing us to a network of corporations and other food pantries who benefit us in many ways, Mission Okolona has been truly blessed to have the continued support of UWNEMS.

What They Do

United Way of Northeast Mississippi fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Northeast Mississippi.

Their mission is to create opportunities to improve lives in the communities they serve, with Okolona, MS, "The little Town that does big things," being no exception. They do this by investing in programs and agencies that further the common good in the impact areas of Academic Success, Family Stability, and Health & Wellness. They also look for opportunities to convene community stakeholders around the big issues that affect all of us and to find innovative solutions to these community problems.

Their Service Area

We serve the the 8-county region of Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee, Monroe, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tishomingo, and Union counties and currently invest in 59 nonprofit organizations that serve 125,000 individuals residing in these counties each year.
